Dental Implant Process

Dr. Bullock is a trusted prosthodontist in the dental implant field, even lecturing to students at Montefiore Medical Center. Dr. Bullock has helped many of his patients achieve a fully restored smile with dental implants.

The dental implants process differs based on individual cases. Bone grafting may be necessary before beginning the dental implants process. To find out your personal treatment plan for dental implants, schedule a personal consultation with Dr. Bullock.

Generally, the dental implants process is broken into 4 steps:

Consultation

First, you will set up a personal, free consultation with Dr. Bullock where he will decide if you are eligible for dental implant surgery. Generally, you must have sufficient bone and gum structure to qualify for dental implants; however, Dr. Bullock might be able to help those who lack sufficient structure with bone grafting surgery, which builds structure back up.

Dental Implant Surgery

Once considered a good candidate, you will be ready for dental implants surgery. During this procedure, Dr. Bullock will make tiny slits into your gums, exposing the jawbone. Then he will embed very small titanium roots into your jawbone with a special drill. Next, he will stitch your gums back up and may send you home with transitory teeth after this surgery.

Recovery after Dental Implants

During the recovery period, your metal roots will amazingly fuse with your jawbone in a process called osseointegration. When this process is complete in a few months time, the roots will be as durable as your natural teeth!

Natural-Looking Replacement Teeth

After osseointegration is complete, you will come back to the office to have your transitory teeth removed and your new, custom-crafted teeth added. Your transformation will be complete.
